To mark the start of the 2010 DC Fashion Week, a Kick-Off Reception took place Monday, 02.15.10 at the Textile Museum in Washington, DC, and as all good things must come to an end, the Week was capped last Sunday, 02.21.10 at the French Embassy. From the model call to the high-profile runway events, Shy Magazine has covered all the electricity, buzz, and great visuals on camera for you.

This season’s events catapulted the production and its reputation to unequivocal notoriety, glamour, and success. Each eclectic Fashion Week event was packed from wall-to-wall as we finally got a chic, cosmopolitan fashion fix in a metropolis whose scene is a little too conservative for our own good. Industry enthusiasts, fashion buyers, and student interns turned out in astounding numbers to see cutting edge designs and attend the uber-luxe parties. Amazed on-lookers clamored to get a glimpse of social types and fashion nomads like DC’s own, Emore’J “The Fashion Specialist”, whose eccentric and abstract looks turned heads and gave the rumor mill a gluttonous fill.

The ready-to-wear and haute couture Fall 2010 lines include: Andrew Nowell Menswear (United States), Artemiza Cruz for Lavill (Mexico), Blumpari (Thailand), Calamarie (Colombia), Cameron Gray (United States), Cecilia Guerra for CG Originals (Peru), Corjor International Couture (United States), Destiny’s Creations & Designs (United States), Durkl (United States), Elizabeth St. John ( United States), Hallero (Nigeria), Heydari (Iran), House of Jola (Nigeria), Kalaa (United States), Kustom Looks (Ghana), Lanre (Nigeria), Melissa Lew (United States), Peruvian Trend (Peru), Ray Vincente (United States), Ruben Gonzales (Argentina), Rupalee (India), Saman Zar (Pakistan), Stella Bonds (Colombia), Tatjana Tatalovic (Serbia), Thinkking Hats (United States), Van Maele (United States), and Zagodi Fashions (Cote d’Ivoire).

The featured event was held at the Embassy of France and showcased an array of jaw-dropping collections by local and global award-winning, high fashion designers.

Shy Magazine wants to thank Ean Williams, CEO and Founder of DC Fashion Week, for inviting us to this great event. We had a blast!
