At the age of 14 years old, Edward received his first pair of clippers by his father Edward Scott Harlan Senior. This began the mark of becoming a well-known neighborhood barber. Soon after achieving his professional license, Edward moved to New York when he was just 19 years old. He worked side by side with celebrity hairstylist Giard Dure’. After mastering runway fashion shows with the likes of Anna Sue, Gucci, Prada and countless famed designers. Not to mention, Edward became one of the top 5 ranked nationwide cutting stylists according to Kenyatta and Paul Mitchell geodesic. Edward has launched his own salon in Silver Spring, MD.

The E. Scott Harlan Salon is known for its versatility of hairstylists, makeup artists, and manicurists. What truly makes this salon one of D.C.’s best is the unique custom designing of a person’s hair, creative color techniques, superior hair extensions, and the men’s grooming. Edward has infused his passion of art into all his cuts and colors by actually sketching out a vision template for his clients.
