Washington D.C.

Friends and family of Ashley Wade, crowned Miss Earth District of Columbia this past April, recently gathered at the Apollo Apartments as part of her grand send off to the Miss Earth United States pageant, running August 2nd through 5th. Hosted by The Bozzuto Group, the property management company at which Ashley is employed, guests in attendance enjoyed stimulating conversation and delicious cuisine, all in support of her bid to take home the crown.

Nationals will take place in Washington DC, and each contestant representing their state will be scored in several categories, including an interview, swimsuit, and evening gown portion. Though Ashley had previously placed in the top 15 for the Miss District of Columbia pageant, but was unable to represent DC for the Miss United States pageant, she continued to seek out further opportunities to spread her message. “I wanted to gain confidence and work on stage presence,” said Miss Wade. After gaining the title of Miss Earth District of Columbia, she has used her platform to open dialogue on the Miss Earth United States organizations’ “go green” principle and being “a beauty for a cause.”

Ashley hopes to greater promote her Leadership and Environmental and Energy Design (LEED) platform, which includes the certification of buildings and an awareness campaign on the importance of sustainability. “I want to bring attention to LEED certification and green practices in D.C. then spread that to the U.S. then eventually to the world” Wade expressed. “I want to explain to everyone why this is so important, and how we all play a role in this.”

Passion for her platform, and true beauty for a cause, makes Ashley Wade the clear choice to represent the District of Columbia, and a solid contender for the Miss Earth United States pageant. Join us in wishing Ashley the best of luck!

More information about the upcoming pageant, including where and how to purchase tickets, can be found on the Miss Earth United States official website.
