The 26-year-old television personality and his mother, Sharon Osbourne, sat down with People to talk about how he’s dealing with the news, admitting, “I was just angry and frustrated and kept thinking, ‘Why now?’ I’ve got a family and that’s what’s supposed to be the most important thing.”

Following the shocking announcement, Jack took to Twitter earlier today to tell his fans, “Thank you all so much for the kind and inspirational words. It means a lot. #adaptandovercome”.

Jack told Hello! magazine that he was diagnosed with MS by a neurologist last month after losing 60 percent of his vision in his right eye, explaining, “While I was waiting for the final results, I got really, really angry. Then I got really sad for about two days, and after that I realized: ‘Being angry and upset is not going to do anything at this point—if anything it’s only going to make it worse'”.

Multiple sclerosis is an autoimmune disorder which attacks the central nervous system and can affect muscle control and strength, vision, balance, feeling, and thinking.

According to Hello!, Jack’s treatment will include daily drug treatments and holistic therapies, as well as lifestyle changes to reduce stress.

Jack’s entire interview with People is expected to hit newsstands on Friday.
