In a significant legal development, rapper A$AP Rocky, born Rakim Mayers, has been acquitted of two felony assault charges in Los Angeles. The charges stemmed from a 2021 incident where he was accused of firing a firearm at his former associate, A$AP Relli (Terell Ephron). The jury, comprising seven women and five men, delivered the not guilty verdict after deliberating for several hours. Upon hearing the decision, A$AP Rocky expressed profound relief, embracing his family and thanking the jurors, stating, “Thank y’all for saving my life.”

Throughout the trial, the defense maintained that the weapon used was a prop gun, aiming to deter an alleged attack from Ephron. This claim was supported by testimonies, including that of A$AP Twelvyy, who stated that the gun was intended to produce sound to deter aggression.

The prosecution, however, argued that the shooting was a deliberate act. Notably, no physical evidence, such as a recovered weapon or ballistic proof, was presented during the proceedings.

In the courtroom, A$AP Rocky’s partner, singer Rihanna, was present to support him. She appeared visibly emotional upon hearing the favorable verdict.

The trial, which spanned nearly four weeks, saw the rapper opting not to testify in his defense.

With this legal matter resolved, fans are eagerly anticipating A$AP Rocky’s upcoming album, “Don’t Be Dumb,” slated for release in early 2025. The album is expected to feature collaborations with prominent producers such as Pharrell Williams, Mike Dean, Madlib, Metro Boomin, and The Alchemist.
