What about writing about the top 10 bizarre places to get married? Surely, there are some strange people out there who have gotten married in some bizarre places. All “normal” people will find this fun to read. Those thrill-seekers can get some ideas! So, let’s break out the parachute and get ready!
10. Bungee jumping facility
Yes, this one is popular, yet, it is still bizarre. How about tying the knot before you jump, one hundred and sixty feet in the air? We have seen ceremonies on a platform, with friends and relatives suspended right with them. The guests can be strapped into their chairs with dresses, tuxedos, and the whole nine yards!
9. Fast food restaurant
We have heard of couples tying the knot at McDonald’s where they met. In one particular wedding, the restaurant didn’t skip a beat as customers continued placing their orders and eating. The bride stated that she could not have imagined a more romantic wedding. Any opinions on this? We have also heard of a couple typing the knot at Taco Bell. What was strange is that this particular couple met on the Internet and already had the same last name. I guess that is a good reason to get married at Taco Bell?
8. A clown house?
This is a bit creepy, but once you get past the makeup, it’s not all that bad. This, of course, is assuming that you are not terrified of clowns. There was a couple who got married at Alberta Street Clown House. Naturally, both of them love everything about clowns and decided that this would be the perfect place for them to tie the knot. Their guests dressed up as clowns, too.
7. A thousand feet above the Earth’s surface
Love can make you feel as if you are sky high! So, why not get married in mid-air? This is known as wing walking and couples have done this before. In one case that I read about, three bi-planes were used. All three of the participants were strapped securely. Yes, the groom had on a full tux, while the bride had a wedding dress on. The whole ceremony was wirelessly transmitted and broadcasted to the guests on the ground through a speaker system.
6. A vehicle
If you are in a hurry to get married, then you may want to hit the road! I read a story about a reverend taking a 1942 edition American La France fire engine and turning it into a mini chapel on wheels. This ride comes complete with a pipe organ, stained glass windows and of course, an altar for that special occasion. Reverend Best charges a fee of two hundred dollars plus two dollars per mile for the ceremony and ride. He can be found in Shelbyville, Illinois.
5. Hell
Who says that weddings have to be fancy and pretty? Why not morbid and dark? I read about a couple who got married at a haunted house, at 7 Floors of Hell to be exact. Everyone dressed for the part. The groom made his entrance with a hearse and came out of a coffin to meet his bride. The bride dressed in white, but had splashes of red added in order to have that creepy Carrie vibe. The minister dressed as the Grim Reaper, of course.
4. Underwater
I have heard of couples getting married under water before. Getting married while scuba diving is neat, but what about staying in an underwater hotel after the ceremony? The Jules Undersea Lodge can make this come true. It will cost 1,750.00 plus tax and you can have the lodge all to yourself. It consists of two bedrooms, a kitchen area, dining area, and a living area. It is located in Key Largo, Florida and is twenty one feet underwater.
3. A nudist beach
What about saying your vows as you let everything hang loose? A nudist wedding may be something for you. This way, you will not have to worry about paying top dollar for a wedding dress or a tux. Your wedding pictures will be very popular. Many do this across the world. However, one of the most well-known places to have that nude wedding is at the Hedonism III Resort in Runaway Bay, St. Ann.
2. A garbage dump
Do you think marriage stinks? Well, it did for the couple that got married at Bethel Transfer Station. This just so happened to be the place where they first met. They were married in this garbage dump with two hundred and fifty guests. The bride wore a seven thousand dollar dress and I must say, the picture of the dump in the background must have really stood out!
1. Mount Everest
Can you believe that a couple actually exchanged their vows on top of Mount Everest? Pem Dorjee and Moni Mulepati were the first ones to do this. They kept the plan a secret until the last minute, because they weren’t sure if they were going to make it all the way to the top. They spent ten minutes at the top and took off their oxygen masks briefly to exchange vows as their friends took pictures. Couples in the past have tried to do this, but none have been able to do it until Pem and Moni.
Those are the top 10 bizarre places to get married, in my opinion You see, some really do go think up of the strangest things to exchange their vows. They believe having a wedding at the beach or in the chapel is just too plain. They prefer going the extra mile and having it on top of the chapel or under the sea. What about you? Do you dig this bizarre wedding stuff? How far would you go?
