We women, for some reason, are seen as the weaker sex in the eyes of the world.

And despite our strides forward in careers and our amazing ability to bear pain, most of the world still sees us as frail push-overs. This post will definitely help you change that! Take charge of your life, take the wheel and be daring! Here are 8 ways to take charge and get what you want!

1. Don’t be afraid to ask HIM out
Men and women have always seemed to operate under the assumption that it’s the man’s job to ask us out. And that was all well and good back when men were gentlemen and women couldn’t have jobs. But times have changed! If you like a guy, you don’t need to sit around and wait for him to make a move! Go for it yourself. This is the age of equality so let’s act like it.

2. Go for that amazing promotion
That’s right, go for it. You’re qualified, you’ve got the experience and yet for some reason you just can’t go for it. Well, you can and you should. The chances of success shoot through the roof when you actually apply. So bite the bullet and go for it! You just might be pleasantly surprised and find that you’ll get the job. And if not, you still have your job and at least you will have went for it!

3. Don’t be afraid to move far away
That’s right, if you feel like you’re stuck and you just want to break away, go on a vacation to a place that you love. If you come back and still feel that sense of imprisonment than start to put some thought into moving away. No one is stuck exactly where they are, remember that. There are always a million reasons not to do something, why not go for the one reason why you should. The most important thing in the world is to be happy and if moving somewhere new will make you happy then you need to go for it!

4. DON’T SETTLE
Are you working a job you hate? With a man that you’re not totally head over heels for? Then why are you settling? There are a million and five jobs in the world that you could work, why stick with the one that makes you miserable? There are a million and one men in the world, why stay with the one that you’re not crazy for? It’s not fair to your or to anyone else to settle for anything less than greatness. So go ahead and make yourself happy!

5. Let go when the time comes
This is a more difficult step in getting what you want. When you know something isn’t going to go anywhere you need to let go. It’s very easy to say but much harder to actually accomplish. Just remember you’re not doing yourself or anyone else any favors by holding onto something that’s a dead end. All you’re doing is trapping yourself. So take a deep breath and release it along with whatever else might be holding you back.

6. Assert yourself when you’re unhappy
I absolutely hate it when people do things that make them miserable. Sure, there are things you have to do even though you hate them. But some things, like relationship issues, are not something that you have to put up with. Don’t be afraid to speak up and find a way to right the situation. If you’re unhappy then something needs to change or be fixed. And silence never changed or fixed anything.

7. Say no when you’re uncomfortable!
If you have someone that is constantly asking favors of you, don’t be afraid to say no. If something makes you uncomfortable, say no to it. There isn’t anything that is worth you feeling pushed around or taken advantage of. So remember that it is OK to say no when you feel that you need to.

8. Know what you want
It is very hard to take charge of your life and push yourself in the right direction when you have no idea what direction to push it in. So take a step back from your life for just a second and really think about what you want from it. Be realistic, but feel free to dream. No one ever got ahead by sitting on their behind and no one ever got what they wanted by being unsure!

Well ladies, hopefully these tips have helped to make you feel better about asserting yourself. Just remember that it’s your life which means that you are in charge of it! Do you have any tips on how or when to take charge? Let me know down below!
