Nicki Minaj's Pink Friday 2 World Tour hit a snag in Amsterdam. Find out about her detainment at the airport, the alleged drug issue, and the impact on her Manchester concert.
Nicki Minaj’s fans just got a major scare today! The rap queen was reportedly detained at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport after Dutch authorities found what they suspected to be “soft drugs” in her luggage.
Minaj took to Instagram Live (the video has since been deleted) to share parts of the encounter, showing an officer informing her about the search. Thankfully, things seem to have settled down relatively quickly.
Dutch police confirmed via social media that a 41-year-old American woman (they didn’t name Minaj specifically) was arrested for allegedly trying to export soft drugs. After consulting with prosecutors, she was fined and released, allowed to continue her travels.
The big question for fans is: what about the concert? The scheduled Manchester stop of the “Pink Friday 2 World Tour” was unfortunately postponed due to this incident. Live Nation UK hasn’t announced a rescheduled date yet, and it’s unclear if this will affect other tour stops.
