Harem pants, baby-doll tops, maxi dresses…men don’t always understand our favorite fashion and beauty trends. But we checked the fashion forecast, and this summer is going to be hot. Here, the five summer fashion trends he’ll love seeing you in:

SHORT SHORTS: We hope you’ve been doing your lunges, because hemlines are getting shorter and shorter in time for the warmer weather. It’s all about boy shorts and hot pants this summer, and your guy will love seeing you show off your gams. To keep this look for being over-the-top sexy, pair with a looser-fitting top and flats instead of heels. (Pictured: ADAM Emma twill pleated shorts, $225,

MILITARY STYLE: With structured shapes, clean lines, and shape-hugging fit, when done right, the military trend can be seriously sexy. Military jackets are always a safe bet: mix it up by pairing a fierce, tough piece on top with something flowy and feminine on the bottom. Or, try out the trend with edgy accessories: think metal detailing, studs and leather.

SPORTSWEAR: If he’s into the sporty look, your guy will love the athletic trend that was heating up the spring/summer runways. Try a tennis skirt during the daytime, and get sexy for a nighttime date in curve-hugging dance-inspired fashion.

SHEER: Show a little skin with sheer, delicate styles. Lightweight, see-through fabrics are completely in this spring/summer. This trend is the perfect romantic choice for a date: pair a sheer black top over lightweight camisole for a nighttime date, or choose a sheer champagne colored dress for daytime.

TOMBOY CHIC: You’ll be able to shop his closet for at least another season, because the menswear and “boyfriend jeans” trend is here to stay, along with the boyfriend blazer, the boyfriend vest, and…well, you get the idea. Face it, you look sexier in his clothes and he’ll love seeing you in them. On cooler summer nights, try layering one of his light cardigans over a girly outfit, like a sundress or v-neck and a mini.
