You don’t have to rush out to the store to buy those pre-made Halloween cookies and donuts; instead, you can make some pretty yummy and fun Halloween treats yourself.
1. GHOST CUPS
These Halloween treats are not only yummy, but they are super easy to make. Draw a ghost face on the side of a clear plastic cup and then fill it with vanilla yogurt or vanilla pudding. That’s it! In a matter of a few seconds, you’ll have a tasty Halloween-themed treat.
2. PUMPKIN COOKIES
Let your kids help you make some pumpkin cookies. Whip up a batch of sugar or pumpkin cookies. When they are cooled, spread a layer of orange icing on top of them; you can buy the icing or make your own by mixing some orange food coloring into vanilla icing. Once iced, use black decorators icing to create the #face of a Jack-o-lantern on the cookies.
3. GHOST SANDWICHES
Make some fingertip sandwiches to feed your little ghouls. Just cut out pieces of bread with a ghost-shaped cookie cutter and build whatever type of sandwich you would like. When the sandwich is built, place two raisins or cranberries on the top piece of bread as #eyes. Delicious, nutritious and easy to make.
The traditional dirt cups are perfect for Halloween treats. To make them, just crunch up chocolate cookies and alternate layers of chocolate pudding and the cookies in clear cups, making sure the top layer is cookies. Place a few gummy worms in the cups and you’ve got dirt that is tasty enough to eat!
5. MUMMY PIGS-IN-A-BLANKET
Make up a batch of tasty mummy pigs-in-a-blanket. Just spread out a roll of pre-made dough and use a pizza cutter to cut it into thin strips. Wrap the strips of dough around a hot dog, creating the #look of a mummy’s wrap. Leave a portion of the hot dog exposed toward the top and place two dots of ketchup or mustard on the exposed part to create the look of #eyes. This is such a cute Halloween treat; in fact, I think it’s my favorite!
6. SPIDER COOKIES
You can make some creepy and crawly, yet tasty, spider cookies for your Halloween festivities. All you have to do is mix some black food coloring into cookie batter. Form the batter into balls and then insert four pretzel sticks onto either side of each ball. The cookies will be the body and the sticks will be the #legs and the entire treat will be super tasty.
7. HALLOWEEN ICE CREAM SANDWICHES
Make up a batch of homemade ice cream sandwiches – with a Halloween twist. For this super delicious treat, spread some ice cream onto large-sized cookies; I like to do vanilla ice cream in between chocolate cookies and chocolate ice cream in between vanilla cookies. Once you’ve done this, you have your ice cream sandwiches, but to add a little Halloween to them, roll the edges of the treats into a bowl of Halloween-themed sprinkles – orange and black are perfect! Keep these treats stored in the freezer until ready to serve. You won’t believe how fast they will be gobbled up!
Just writing about these treats makes me hungry! I can’t wait for our Halloween party! Are you having a party this year? Do you plan on serving any of these foods?
