Heuer’s gorgeous ambassador, Cara, has auctioned her personal Tag Heuer Signature Edition Carrera watch on eBay to raise $14,500. Tag Heuer matched the winning bid to raise a combined $28,900.
Moved by the killing of Cecil the Lion, Delevingne wrote on her eBay page, “The killing of Cecil the Lion was a tragedy.
Join me to help the scientists who care about the future of wild lions in Africa and work very hard on their conservation.” The supermodel also added, “Ahead of the official sale of my Tag Heuer Signature Edition I decided to auction my personal timepiece prototype. I wore this watch on several occasions and during the last Monaco Grand Prix.”
Cara flaunts her love for the big cat in form of the lion tattoo on her finger, which is prominently shown on a Tag Heuer advertisement.
Worn by Delevingne on many occasions, including the Monaco F1 Grand Prix, the watch features 41 mm steel case with a titanium-carbide coating and an anthracite dial. The bezel is set with 72 round white diamonds. It is engraved with “Cara Delevingne Edition” and stamped on the back with a lion’s head. The signature of Cara Delevingne is stamped in rose gold inside the aged black calfskin strap.
Prof David Macdonald, director of WildCRU, said, “This money will help maintain and expand the Hwange programme, supporting Lion conservation for the future.” He added that $14,500 could pay for six tracking collars or could fund the Hwange Lion Programme’s anti-poaching patrol for about six months.
