Constantly being approached by photographers, Ndiaye wasn’t always open to the idea of modeling but after a few photo shoots, he decided to give it a shot. His career has since taken flight as Cherif is signed with both L.A. Models based in California, and Major Model Management in N.Y.C.
When she was 16, a model search came to town and her godmother persuaded the West African beauty to give it a try. As a result, she booked her very first campaign, putting her face on billboards all over the U.S.
Saks Fifth Avenue, Giorgio Beverly Hills, Nike, Revlon, Cosmopolitan and Ebony are just some of the companies that Betsie, 26, has done work for. She has also worked with industry players, such as Bruce Weber for an Abercrombie & Fitch campaign, and walked in fashion shows for the likes of Donna Karan, Vivienne Westwood and Jean Paul Gaultier.
“Modeling is an art in which you need to just become this image: the pose and the emotion is what will make you a professional model,” attests Chernetsky.
